The sets and costumes were *beautiful* and the entire cast did a wonderful job! Though I do have to give special props to Katie Rose Clarke - she played Glinda and she was *fantastic!* She did ditzy blond so well. And, of course, I have to give mad props to Donna Vivino who played Elphaba - she was divine!
I have the soundtrack now as well as an overwhelming desire to re-read the novel.
I also think I could get into this whole "seeing plays" thing :)

...I'm deleting Flock and converting back to Firefox.
Has the bugs been worked out of 3, or do I go for 2?
They're spoilerish for college roomies for hell!, but if you know what character ran into Gabe, then you know what I'm talking about.
It's kind of a fancomic I was thinking about doing that'll be a couple of pages.
But I ended up doodling it out in individual illustrations. oops. I may put it together and make a real full 2-page comic out of it once I'm done. There's a little bit more after this that I want to add that has a little more gay than this. But anyway this is what I have of the sketchy ideas.
& I have an additional doodle with that.

These last two weeks have been pretty much chaos incarnate. And I have a suspicion the next two won't be much better.
Week before last was, of course, Guide Camp, which went off virtually without a hitch. No major injuries, I didn't kill any of the kids (which says more about my self-control than it does about the behaviour of the kids), and there were no natural disasters or evacuations. And while I was shaping young minds, my parents were in Saskatoon, attempting to buy a house for my brother (and eventually me). I say attempting because, to my knowledge, they've yet to be successful, sellers expectations in Saskatoon having failed to keep up with market conditions. And then I got home and pretty much slept for 48 hours solid.
This week I sort of expected to go back to work and have it be the same old surfing-the-net-and-surreptitiously-play
So anyways, busy. Also exhausted. And on Thursday my boss grabbed on the way out the door to inform me that next week I would probably be running the scales at the asphalt plant. On the night shift. So that should be interesting: I will either discover my suspicions about being a night owl to be true, or I will gradually go insane. On the plus side: all sorts of time available to work on various things I've been intending to work on, since running the scales involves lots of downtime.
( Vars. memes I have missed: WORDS )
( Works in Progress )
If I've missed any memes that I said I'd do and forgot, poke me.
And now, I'm going to go do some more damage control in my room, and also play my music really loud. Because, although I am a responsible young adult, my parents are gone this weekend and certain traditions must be observed.

MEANWHILE, it rained today and three - count 'em, three! - leaks sprung in our bedroom. Over our bed. Which is now soaked, hoorah. Fucking great! So now we have to have the landlords over to look at it, and our landlords are predictably slimy (obviously; they're landlords, for crying out loud*) but they are also kind of incompetent. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be easier to just fix it ourselves. I don't really know anything about this but the internet is a vast resource and I'm pretty sure I can do a better job than the landlords, thanks to whom we don't have a working doorknob (ours broke; they couldn't figure out how to install a new one, so they just screwed two unconnected knobs to each side of the door and called it fixed).
While I'm at it I might as well try and figure out how to fix an improperly grounded fridge without getting electrocuted.
I'm not generally a particularly handy person. When I try to build things, they end up glued, taped and tied together and generally look like shit. At this point, however, I really don't care how it looks so long as I'm no longer getting leaked on when I want to take a nap, or getting zapped randomly when opening the door to my own damn refrigerator.
The hilarious thing is that I've actually stayed in worse apartments than this.
*Seriously, I've always suspected that it takes a certain type of sociopath to charge someone a significant, fixed monthly rate for a basic human need without which people tend to suffer greatly and die tragically.
Down the street a drainage pipe is being replaced. Half the road is blocked off and there are back-hos and huge concrete cylinders with “On Hold! Heartland/Baraboo!” spray painted on the sides, which amuses me for no particular reason.
Our cable service, which includes the phone and internet, has blacked out for the second time this week. Last time is was because someone didn’t see the bright orange cable marker and cut the line, taking away service for 3 blocks. They then tried to recreate the orange marker with spray paint, on the torn up ground, hoping that no one would notice. We did.
While I don’t know for sure yet I suspect it’s a similar scenario this time around. Good job, guys. NOTE: Aaand it came back and is down again. Apparently it's not all the construction's fault, but some kind of other problem. Weird.
I’d be annoyed but today we bought fresh blueberries from one of the local farms. In case you didn’t know, I love blueberries. They are beyond other berries, as if someone cross bred Awesome Berries with the Berries of Harmony Between Man and Nature, and that’s how blueberries came to be. My chief complaint with most blueberry pies, pastries, and donuts is that they don’t have enough blueberries in them. I am eating a huge bowl of this ripe, delicious awesomeness right now, which explains why I can sit here idly typing instead of freaking out over the many project deadlines that are looming.
Okay, now I’m out of blueberries. And starting to freak out. TIME TO GO DRAW STUFF. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELFAHHH.

The steroids are not helping the migraine. It is still getting worse. They are calling in Midrin/Duradrin today, and hoping that my tolerance is gone now that I've been off it for two years. If that doesn't work, I guess they're sending me somewhere for a brain scan, because there's only so many medications you can throw at a continuous migraine before you have to try to figure out the cause beneath it.
I hate this, man. Frickin hate.
• NO CAPTIONS!!! It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words.
• They must ALREADY be on your hard drive - no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.
• You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.
( These will likely puzzle you all. Just sayin'. )

Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman talk to the New York Press about their collaborative book, Who Killed Amanda Palmer.
“I loved the idea that somebody had been taking photos of herself dead in different places for 14 years. There was a sort of madness and dedication,” says Gaiman in a soft British accent. “When she told me about the idea to do a book, it had that wonderful, barking mad, attractive quality of ‘I have never done anything like that, that would be fun.’”
